I was just answering a query from one of my good friends who asked me the question "where do you get the referrals from?" He was referring to Google referral ads, similar to the ad links that are the most popular for contextual advertising. My guess is that referral ads did not do so well since their inception. I found the message, in read, that said "Note: Referrals will be retired during the last week of August 2008." Sounds like Google is shutting down referral ads. First I heard of it. Used it sparingly and when I did not have success with it, I deleted the code with no looking back and stuck with good old fashioned ad links which continue to get hit on a 1:6 ratio. Why mess with success?
