Marketing Blogs - BlogCatalog Blog Directory
Social media marketing is the best way to get known on the internet buzz, buzz, buzz, fast, fast, fast. People are getting to know BartTheBear and the traffic to my web pages show it. It is all about traffic. A lot of it. And it is good for backlinks if you choose the right social media sites.

One of my friends uses them primarily for the backlinks. I can't get him to vote on my social media submits to save my life.

If you want to get to the #1 in Google for a particular keyword phrase, here is the SEO part of this post, here is my advise, I would become the guru for that keyword phrase. Blog about it, write about it in the article directories, and build yourself up in the social media sites as this guru. Develop your persona. Be the expert. Don't be spammy, be the one who people go to for the information on your chosen keyword phrase or theme.

Read about 100 blogs related to your keyword phrase and submit the best stories to the social media sites, throwing 1 out of 10 of your own material into the mix. I find that this mix prevents the spam accusations. When someone does complain, back off for a few days.

People will start following you. I read over 80 blogs on a variety of topics right now and it takes me about 30 minutes to find 10 articles a day to post to the social sites that I use. Then I either write or find a good article in my article directory that I want to promote and people will find a good read and submit it to 6 -10 social sites.

My latest niche is IPhone, only because it is the favorite topic in Moxie Drive Expressions. Out of 323 keyword phrases, since December, one particular article in this article directory is showing up in Google on page #1 for the keyword phrase how to download music to iphone.

This article went hot in Google in December and has had over 1,000 visits. I can't get one of my articles in Ezine Articles to draw over a few hundred reads in a whole year!

The Moxie Drive Expressions article titled MP4 download has had over 1,400 visits in the same period.

This was mostly because of submitting them to the social media sites as well as having a tight nit internal linking strategy for Moxie Drive Expressions. I get backlinks in the fraction of the time from the social sites than it takes to write/submit an article or ask for a reciprocal link (worthless). Not only do I get the backlinks from my social media efforts, I get backlinks from other bloggers referring to the original article if they so choose. Social media can be used as a link-baiting exercise . This just pushes the pages in question up higher in the search engines.

Make friends in the social media sites. They will follow you and light the fire under your website that you are looking for. Ask for their friendship.

More people will flock and ask you questions than you could ever have believed, and then they will also flock to your website. Knowing you a little better, they will join your programs. Drive traffic to your web pages and it will come.

Look at the big picture here. What would you do with a hundred thousand visits per day? Check out Whateverlife.com. Ashley, the website owner, uses Myspace to socialize with and gets over a hundred thousand visits from young girls a day to her website. She has a magazine, a blog, gives away free Myspace backgrounds that are developed overseas, and makes 100% of her income from Adsense. She is a millionaire at 17 years old. She is all about traffic and friends...hers, the income is incidental. CTR and conversion are an afterthought. Focus on the website community. The income may come.

We all want to make money online, but if you fight for it, it will flee. Why not coax it instead?

I'm psyched to hear that your traffic has spiked.

I'm not surprised though. You're presence is a very powerful one!

So much energy. It's refreshing.

Thanks for the link to the social media sites above.

Keep it up brother.

Hey!

I'm no expert on using social media marketing, but figure I'm still smarter than the av-er-age... bear... at it... :)

This was a great post and I just subscribed to your RSS feed for future reading - btw, could you make your RSS feed graphic bigger so it's easier to find? (LOL)

I particularly liked your case study examples and promotion of article directories as one avenue of SMM. Very good incentive for others to follow suit and, after checking to confirm you accept submissions as well, I've added your article directory my own resource page under the 'eCommerce' category in the new additions section.

I linked my name for this comment to go directly to that page. Feel free to let me know if you want any changes and/or feel free to utilize any of the other directories listed there. Relevant ones in the Niche category can be great for putting your article in front of targeted eyeballs.

Thanks for the great comment Steve. I will try to find a more adequate RSS feed graphic. It is kind of invasive.

Ha!

Actually I kinda enjoyed your RSS icon being so large. There have been many times when I've had to scan all over a blog page to find an RSS feed link... and often there's none at all (and this is in internet marketer and SEO blogs too!).

But there's no missing yours - which is kinda good, imo. :)
