Two of the most common issues in network marketing are 'retention' and 'motivation'. In other words, once you've built a good downline, how do you keep them motivated to stay in and work the program? The last thing you want is an unmotivated, lazy downline. Success in any MLM is built on interdependent relationships. You depend on your downline's performance, as it is directly tied to your profits. Likewise, your downline depends on YOU to teach them how to duplicate your success. This is key. Your downline wants the big bucks as much as you do; but, they will quickly despair of achieving this goal if they don't see a clear path towards it. If you want your associates to stay focused and motivated, it must start from you. Giving them the right instruction and skills training will surely reap impressive consequences. It's now time to estimate what kind of training your associates actually call for. Is there any specific type of required skills? Your people may have different levels of talents and experiences. There are also those who are still novices in network marketing. As a result, it is essential for you to present your salespeople with a marketing scheme that's easy to handle and simple to follow. The marketing scheme needs to assist your recruits, from obtaining leads to converting leads into actual sales. Afterwards, you should be able to instruct them on how to utilize the platform successfully. Doing so is essential, if you want them to achieve the same performance you have had. After this training, a good portion of your downline should be getting good results, and very happy to be in the program. BUT, you can't let them settle for 100 sales per month when they could easily make 200 sales per month. Not everyone is as driven or motivated as desired. However, you can always turn things around by targeting their self-esteem. Take advantage of their need for the right incentives. Praising your associate openly will always generate a positive response. You can do this via email or through regular company pamphlets that focus on company performers. You might even want to find a way to reward them materially. For example, you could purchase a tool that will help them in their business -a course on copy writing, for example - and give it away free to the 'most improved' downline member. There will always be excellent opportunities for these. If you want your business to have a competitive downline, you have to show them how indispensable they are. You should be concerned about their achievements as well, through encouragement and constant assistance.
