The coca leaf was once used as religious and even medicinal by natives of South America. When the leaf was already exploited by the natives for reasons of defending themselves against fatigue and hunger, boosting their endurance and feeling high, coca was outlawed. But it came to the scene again and was introduced in other parts of the world.
Crack cocaine is obtained when the cocaine hydrochloride is concentrated. This is done by heating the drug in a solution of baking soda. The water is waited to evaporate. The sound that the cocaine makes when heated is the basis for the term “Crack Cocaine”.
Crack cocaine delivers an out of this world experience. It makes the user feel high. Cocaine is also used as a pain killer. The short term euphoric feeling achieved when using crack cocaine is immediately replaced by a crash like the feeling of anxiety, depression and fatigue.
Crack cocaine is addictive and its effect on the person is unpleasant. It has physical, emotional, psychological and social effects. The cocaine user does not only harm himself but also the people around him. Crack cocaine users also tend to separate themselves from reality and from family and friends.
Non-crack-cocaine users can carry cocaine in their pockets without even knowing it. Cocaine can contaminate bills easily because it is in fine powder form. In fact, in the United States dollar bills were randomly checked for cocaine presence and they found 4 out of 5 bills are already contaminated. The dollar bills from a cocaine user can have traces of the drug. It is easily passed on to other bills.
There are four forms of cocaine that can make a person feel intoxicated and can stir addiction. First, by its original state, the leaf. Some people, especially the natives, simply chew the leaves. Second, in the form of cocaine sulphate. Third, in the form of cocaine hydrochloride, the white powder. And lastly in the form of crack cocaine.
In the nineteen century, brewery made coca wine which immediately became a hit. This coca wine is said to be aphrodisiac in nature. This added to the wine’s appeal.
