We are living in a brave new world. A world that is in fast forward into bigger and better things, in all aspects of the word. Advancement is the key, convenience is the law, and nothing is changing faster than the world wide web.
The Internet is actually a fairly new occurrence that has made the world a much smaller place to live. Through e-mail one can contact a friend or colleague around the world almost instantly. All you need is a connection and an account. It`s that simple. Although not everyone in the world can benefit from such advances the millions that can have an opportunity to express themselves like never before in the form of blogging.
Blogging is basically posting ones ideas, opinions, beliefs, etc, on an on-line web-page. Blogs can be in many different forms which consist of art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) and micro-blogging is a type of blogging where one would submit very short posts.
This fairly new phenomenon has allowed the everyday joe who otherwise would have no way to express said beliefs or opinions to stand up and be heard. Millions of viewpoints on a variety of topics ranging from politics to back yard wrestling are available for all to see. Thanks to blogging your computer is now your most valuable source of information. Need to change a carburetor? I guarantee there`s a how to somewhere on-line. Want to improve your golf swing? Google it. The answers to just about anything you can dream of are only a click away.
While the pros of blogging are obvious, just like anything else there is a down side. U-Tube is a website where just about anyone, mainly teens, can post videos for on-line viewing. While this does provide a form of media for the everyday joe, and much of what is posted is extremely hilarious, many unwillingly condemn themselves by using this form of blogging. What you post on-line stays on-line, forever. Anyone can see what you submit from future employers to college recruiters, and more and more of them are using the Internet to research potential students/employees. A single moment, while fun or humorous at the time, could prevent one from obtaining the education or career they otherwise would have easily received.
So there you have it. Blogging, the little mans voice, America`s new favorite pastime. Not only America, blogging has taken the world by storm. So whether you want to post a video of your buddies flaming leap of doom or take place in a world wide debate just keep in mind that your voice will be heard. For better or worse.
