Both magazines have excellent feature articles and tips that can help you budget your money, find low cost loans, learn how others overcame their debt problems, and much more. Some libraries allow cardholders to check out magazines or to keep old copies for themselves.

Your local community college or technical school could have a seminar or class available to help you control your finances. In some cases these classes are free while in other cases you may be asked to pay a small fee. Many times these classes and seminars are taught by community leaders who are experts in personal finance. You may find that the instructors are more than willing to sit down with you at no cost to you.

Your county’s consumer affairs department may have a program available to help cash strapped consumers. Professionals skilled with consumer issues can help you take control of your finances and help you overcome your short term problems while developing a long term plan to manage your finances. Also check with your church or civic organization for programs that may be available through them.

Regardless how desperate your financial situation may be, there is hope but you must seek help in order to control your budget. Start today and you’ll be well on your way to solving financial problems with sensibility.
