Inside the mind of a Heroic Multi-level marketing Star An interview with master attraction marketer Patrick Curl. Patrick Curl is a master social media marketer working out of his home in Dayton, OH. Patrick Curl has one of the largest downline organizations in his company. Patrick Curl also is a social media marketer, search engine optimzation evangelist, and social networking enthusiast. Question: How long have you been working in MLM? Answer: Well, honestly I have been trying to do MLM since 1998. I jumped into multi-level marketing with Life Force International - a health and wellness company. I gained some good success, not outstanding but positive during the first 3-6 months. I earned around $600, which isn't huge but it's a pleasant start in my judgement. I was 18 at this time, and the thought of owning my own business was an dazzling prospect. I recruited approximately 5 individuals on my own, my strongest recruit was a man I recall his name was Roger. I was brand-new to network marketing, as was he. Long story short he enrolled around 20 people, then got reprimanded for doing some spamming. He didn't get ousted, just chewed out by the company. He was pissed off, and left the company. My income vanished entirely and I was unable to reconstruct it. I didn't know it then but I had just set out on a decade of education that would end in the recognition of my most impassioned dreams. After Roger left, I lost just about everyone in my organization. Nobody was making money and without the money, I could not afford to buy the $100 monthly autoship products, so I fell by the wayside. Since then I've been in Legacy For Life, two tiers beneath Mark Yarnell who at the time was a somewhat notable MLM, but has since lost nearly all of his repute. I was also in Ameriplan on two distinct occasions, Cognigen, Excel Communications, World Marketing Alliance, Mary Kay - yeah that was sort of a gag (not because the company is bad but I'm a man and nearly all of the wares just don't fit me.) I have basically been there, and done that. The whole time I was searching for the ideal opportunity for me. What I didn't do was attempt to make me perfect for the opportunity. Question: What did you mean by perfect for the opportunity? Answer: Each MLM company has two aspects: Products and Opportunity. At least that is the outward aspect. But deeper, on a more individual level is the individual. When we are successful in Multi-level marketing it's not because we are a outstanding sales person, or because the opportunity is the hottest on earth, or because there is no other product similar to the one we have. We are productive only when we become the product and opportunity. Put Differently, we are what's being sold. Network Marketing is the occupation of relationship establishing. Real success can only come from building relationships. Question: What's the best way to acquire new prospects? Answer: Well, the old strategy was to prepare a list of every one of your relatives and try to sell them on the business opportunity. This works - but only after you're already booming. The real success secret is to use article marketing, pay per click ads, paid advertisements, classified ads, craigslist, forums, etc - essentially all the resources that the internet gives us, to gather leads. Once you have your extremely targeted leads, call them up and build relationships with these individuals. Some may join, and some may not. The main thing is to get over your dread of being successful. Phone fear is a MLM killer and something that barely demands a little effort to master. Just use consistent effort and make at least 10 phone calls per day for the first 2 weeks if possible. Some may try babysteps over leaping in and making a bunch of phone calls but that is not advisable, because it's very simple to call 3 people, and your chance of getting someone to join is fewer than 1 in 3. The more individuals that you call, the more likely you are to have a measure of success which will translate into more self-confidence and more success. Question: What is the hottest advice you can give to brand-new people wanting to be prosperous in MLM? Answer: If you stop believing in yourself, and your ability to make it work then you will never be prosperous. Nobody will follow somebody who does not have passion. Dare to be passionate about your business and you are ensured success.
