If you are an internet marketer then you should know by now that traffic is the lifeblood of your business and without it you stand no chance of surviving. There are literally hundreds of ways to get traffic to your website, but we don’t want any old traffic, we want free and targeted traffic so we can fully maximise the potential of our websites.
My favourite method of traffic generation is by utilizing the power of article writing and submission. It’s by no means a unique method, but it is highly effective. Not only does article submission generate traffic for your website through the use of an author resource box, it also boosts your search engine ranking because of an increased number of link backs to your site.
An article can be written in around 20-40 minutes and submitted to hundreds of directories with just a further 10 minutes work. There are many services around which will automatically submit your article and resource box and these come at very reasonable prices. The excellent thing about articles is there unpredictability. One article can generate you hundreds of visitors, while another can generate tens of thousands if they get picked up by other sites and list owners.
Another excellent method of free traffic generation is by answering questions on Yahoo! Answers. This is a site where members ask questions they are struggling to find an answer to and fellow members answer as best they can.
So, how can you generate traffic using this method?
In your answer, you are permitted to include a link to a website (your website if you like). Many people will read your answers and will follow your link.
This is also a great method to promote affiliate products. Many people will ask for help to do with a particular subject, I’m sure you could find a product that suits this need and answers their question. You can then become an affiliate of that product, post your link and perhaps the person who asked the question – and others who were reading the question and answers – go on to purchase the product.
The best way to maximise this method is to also provide a helpful answer. That way they will be more likely to trust you and more likely to trust your recommendations.
You can answer up to 20 answers per day on Yahoo! Answers until you reach 250 points, at this time you can then answer 40 questions per day. The better your answers are, the more likely you are to receive extra points for a best answer and the quicker you will reach 250 points. You should aim to answer as many questions as possible each day for maximum exposure.
I’ve found this method excellent for boosting Yahoo search engine ranking and it generates many link backs in all of the major search engines.
The two methods I’ve outlined in this article are very powerful when used to the maximum of their potential. There are many other free – and paid – traffic methods yet I truly believe these two are the most powerful of all of them.
