A Story That Is Relevant Today
Top Girls on Broadway starts at the Top Girls Employment Agency in London in the early 1980s. The play tells the story of Marlene, who has just been appointed as the head of the firm. She is a very ambitious career oriented lady and as she celebrates her achievements, the play forces us to consider if we find it in ourselves to applaud her values. Top Girls is a very bold and ingenious work and has been highly appreciated by theater-goers.

The cast members of Top Girls on Broadway are well known for their stage and film works. The play stars Elizabeth Marvel as Marlene. Her previous Broadway appearances include Seascape, An American Daughter, Taking Sides, and Saint Joan. She has appeared in many off-Broadway plays, some of which include Terrorism, A Second Hand Memory, Hedda Gabler, Play Yourself, Alice in Bed, Lydie Breeze, A Streetcar Named Desire, Therese Raquin, Misalliance, Henry V, Arts & Leisure, King Lear, Troilus and Cressida and Silence, Cunning, and Exile.
Martha Plimpton appears as Pope Joan/Angie in Top Girls on Broadway. Drama Desk Award winner Martha Plimpton currently also stars in Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Cymbeline. Earlier this year, she appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Central Park. This year, she received a Tony nomination for her role in The Coast Of Utopia. Shining City and Sixteen Wounded are her other Broadway appearances. Her off-Broadway credits include Boston Marriage, Flesh and Blood, The False Servant, Hobson’s Choice, subUrbia, Pericles, and The Haggadah.
Top Girls also stars Marisa Tomie, an Academy Award winner for her portrayal of Mona Lisa Vito in My Cousin Vinny. She had earlier appeared on Broadway in Salome and Wait Until Dark. She has received a Theater World Award for Daughters. Her off-Broadway credits include The Vagina Monologues, Demonology, Dark Rapture, Slavs!, The Comedy, and What the Butler Saw.
Mary Catherine Garrison stars as Patient Griselda/Jeanine/Kit/Shona in Top Girls. She is best known for her Broadway appearances in Rabbit Hole, Assassins, and The Man Who Came to Dinner. Her off-Broadway credits include The Foreigner, Debbie Does Dallas, Crimes of the Heart, and The Last of the Thorntons.
