In the ocean of options it can be confusing and somewhat challenging to find a way to monetize your visitors in a way that does not compromise ascetics. Google Adsense, Adbrite and Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) all display rather bland and plain looking ads while services like WidgetBucks display more appealing advertising elements. All of these monetizing systems sorely limit your creativity and occupy your valuable web page space.
There is a new player emerging that stands to change the methods of internet advertising and from all signs will stand as a great Adsense alternative. We have all seen the plethora of text ads that seem to move across the net like a virus and some die-hard internet marketers can remember the days when banner advertising was the end-all, be-all when it came to monetizing traffic.
The wave of the future is pay per play audio ads. The idea is that you simply place a small snippet of code on your web pages and each time a visitor lands on your site they are presented with a very short audio advertisement.
I have reviewed these ads and they seem to be very unobtrusive and the monetization model allows for publishers to earn $.02 for each audio ad that is played. The exciting part of this for those out there with significant traffic is that you no longer have to rely on click through rates (CTR) in order to make money from your traffic. The really great thing is that you can use these audio ads on sites that contain your existing monetization elements.
