You can pickup articles from many sites but most of those free articles are used on thousands of other sites too therefore it means you just have duplicate content on your website, and since search engines can easily recognize the duplicate content on the internet therefore your content will not have any weight to search engines. Having quality targeted and unique content is more useful to a site designer than having the same mass-produced substandard articles that are so common on the web today. I would apply the free articles as a starter but its best to do your own.
