As with anything internet related-there are a few things that are necessary for you to be able to download games for Wii.
1-A computer. It doesn't have to be the latest Dell monster gaming rig or anything like that, just a fairly modern computer will do-as long as it's less than about 8 years old you should be fine.
2-An internet connection-you can't download games for Wii without having an internet connection. As far as this goes, usually the more modern the better. Games are pretty big files these days so you will really appreciate a fast connection here. If you don't have one, the downloads will still work just fine, except they will take a little longer.
3-Some stuff you are looking to download. When you see the range of downloads available, it's really easy to find yourself a little overwhelmed. On my first few trips to a game download site I came away empty handed because I just couldn't decide what to choose first. Avoid this by having a good idea of what games you want to download for Wii beforehand.
4-Somewhere to download the games from. This is probably the toughest part, as it seems that most households have a computer and decent speed internet these days, but most people really don't know where they can safely download games. The problem is that most people's first though when they decide to download games for Wii is to get them from a torrent or P2P site. This is really not a good idea-A it's illegal, and B, sites like that are a real haven for hackers and spammers etc. You'll really be inviting some nasty stuff into your computer, which can then obviously be passed to your Wii.
Thankfully, over the last few months a few much better alternatives have started showing up. These websites are revolutionary, in that they will charge you a one off fee in order to get access to their huge catalog of downloadable games. It's not only games either, you can usually find movies and TV shows there too. The downloads are pretty fast, and they are always in good condition, unlike the things found at the P2P sites. Some of these newer sites really are the best way to download games for Wii.
