There are few greater characteristic that a business manager could develop than learning how to be true to himself/herself. However, in order to obtain this crucial skill it becomes necessary to investigate the word itself. One method that can help us understand this word 'true' is by examining its opposite. The opposite of true is false. Consequently we see that that in order to be true to ourselves we must bring to a close the days when we were false. What exactly does it mean for a person to be false? We find the answer by looking at a few of the false's synonyms which are: phony, artificial, fictitious, misleading, insincere, etc. Simply put, being false is to deceive, or to live a lie. The foundation of truth is authenticity. To be authentic/true to yourself builds personal integrity in the eyes of others. It is not difficult to have confidence in someone who is totally authentic and truthful. As a leader people look up to you for direction. You move forward to pave the trail that others can then follow. Making it easy for your employees to develop confidence in you ought to be near the very top of your priorities. This is possible when you begin proving your authenticity. Have you ever noticed how much you appreciate being around frank and honest individuals? Men and women who are genuine allow you relax and feel safe and confident. Fostering the feeling of security and comfort in others is essential for building sustainable business endeavors and facilitating long term strategic partnerships. Being true represents consistency and consistency builds trust. Practice this week being true. Speak the truth with your words. When you say you will complete a task make your words truth by completing that task. This one action will strengthen the power of your word. It will be predictable and you will be TRUE.
