Before you quit your day job and realize your small business ideas, you need to step back and think things through.
First, you must know where your motivation comes from. Make it totally clear what your reasons are to start up your own business. Write down all your reasons, then it will be easier to evaluate them.
Next, you need to create a picture of your life as a work from home entrepreneur. Again it's easiest to write it down first.
Take a piece of paper, In one side write down the positive aspects, on the other side, list the negatives. Draw a line in between the two columns and start painting your future life.
The advantages of working from home may include: being your own boss, no office politics, no daily commute, the time you used for daily commute you can directly spend together with your family, some tax advantages, etc.
The disadvantages, may include an irregular income flow, no work mates to socialize with, and so on. Try to really picture your coming life and analyze it before you take the plunge.
It is very important that you are disciplined. To run a business from home requires a lot of self-discipline. Think about it, in your own home, no one will tell you what to do. What actually will be done in your business, is up to you!
No one will pick up the slack and there will be nobody else to blame. You will only earn as much money as you actually earn, you will not have a fixed amount per month. You'll be forced to produce, if you can't deliver, you may not have enough to live on. Set up a working schedule and stick with it.
Lastly, enter a business field that you are interested in. You'll have the biggest chances of success in an area that you have a natural talent in and are passionate about. It's time to make another list, this time of hobbies you have that you can possibly transform into small business ideas. There are ways to make business out of most hobbies and they will make a perfect home based business.
